QLD PNG Kokomos Win the QPICC Cup
PME would like to congratulate the QLD PNG Kokomos on winning the QPICC Cup.
We are a proud sponsor and its a pleasure being associated with such a fantastic event.
The men’s final was a thrilling match, with the PNG side retaining the trophy with a close 12-8 victory over Samoa.
The two nations have built a healthy rivalry over recent years, having met in the final three times now. The two nations have also enjoyed a strong showing in the men’s grand final, with either Samoa or PNG featuring in the deciding match in every QPICC bar the inaugural final in 2013.
As well as the action on the field, the sharing and showcasing of culture off the field was another highlight and key component of the carnival, with the opening ceremony on Friday night a particularly special event.
